Not unlike acclaimed advice columnists like Dear Abby and Ann Landers, Maxine is a rambunctious golden retriever who relates to dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes. Her prowess as a master shoe eater has inspired a new generation of sneaky dogs. Maxine lives with her parents Cathy and Kevin, owners of Maxline Brewing in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Dear Mapel: You will woof Fort Collins! Not only is this place super pet-friendly (check out the wall of dog photos at Maxline) but there are tons of activities that you and your human can do. Make sure to hike Horsetooth (my favorite is Arthur’s Rock for the views ?), hang out at the many dog-friendly breweries in town and head over to Old Town Churn Ice Cream for a doggy scoop (fun fact: the owner’s dog is named Scoop.
